Welcome to Riverdale Avenue Middle School, better known as RAMS, where we strive to make learning engaging and transformative. I feel extremely fortunate to be the principal of a school with such wonderful children, a motivated and dedicated staff, and parents who work with us to create an environment that facilitates student learning through a wide variety of innovative and collaborative methods and activities grounded in trauma-informed practices. RAMS aims to be the #1 trauma-informed school in the nation. Our faculty and staff are highly committed to providing our students with a learning environment that is safe and nurturing, where all students are provided with the tools to build their capacity for healthy relationships, more focused learning, and greater happiness. Your child’s holistic wellness and education is our top priority.

We believe student power yields empowered students. The RAMS curriculum guides the high-quality instruction that takes place every day in the classrooms. Our curriculum is aligned with the Next Generation Learning Standards which promote 21st Century learning skills. Our teachers use more researched based strategies to promote high student achievement through the integration of our code of excellence: Resilience, Altruism, Mastery, and Self-Discipline. We feel strongly that the initiatives already in place, provide a strong foundation for exceptional learning. This, along with the support of our families and community, makes RAMS an amazing place to learn and work.
